Yes, I'm going to whine...
So, there is nothing more frustrating than trying to read something on a website and being barraged by more pop up ads.
Now YouTube is offering to remove those ads for a price. So let me get this straight, you get paid to place those ads and now you want to be paid to remove those ads so I'm not irritated?
Okay, sure I get that you lose money from those companies by removing the ads so you want me to pay for it to be removed. But, how do we know that you are actually losing money and that you aren't charging us more than what you supposedly losing?
And what about those ads on every website? Trillions of ads just waiting to make your browsing experience pure hell. Yes, I remember the days when Internet was actually an enjoyable experience, when gigabyte data value wasn't shrinking faster the American dollar. I remember when you could actually use a computer without Internet. Now I can't turn mine own without being accosted by ads, demands to upgrade and update my system. Updates which I'm expected to pay for to be downloaded and installed (another double dip).
It's at a point where it's so complicated it's barely worth the effort and irritation. But of course, like the rest of the world I'm addicted to the most powerful drug to ever enter our society, so I do it.
I dream of a day when I can turn on my computer and not have Microsoft constantly requesting that I upgrade to their newer (and better) version or update, when I can simply turn my computer on and enjoy having one. By the way, I do know that each time you (MS) are supposedly improving my features, you take some of my other features away, which now require the download of a paid app to use.
I used to be able to jump on the Internet and read for free, yeah I get it, those people deserve to be paid and I don't mind that so much but I used to be able to go to my own photos and send them without having to buy some damn app to make it happen.
Apple has made it (almost) impossible to use their product with Microsoft and Android products. I have been forced to either buy apps that will transfer them from one to the other or give in and buy all Apple products so they flow seamlessly from phone to iPad to laptop to desktop.
I can't be bi-tech, tri-tech or even quad-tech because Microsoft (Windows), Android and Apple are trying to corner the market. Blackberry, Sailfish, and Firefox are after thoughts. Some think Ubuntu will challenge the leaders but when you consider that most people have already chosen their brand and have already bought all the coordinating products and accessories, we are talking about a huge investment to switch to Ubuntu unless their products were magically compatible with the others.
If you consider that all of these tech creators are multi -billionaires and that tech products that should be decreasing in price have steadily increased due to each NEW change or revision that is supposed to improve our Internet experience, we should all be realizing that there is more than simply double-dipping going on in the tech community.
We pay for the NEW improved version that has some great new feature and we quietly refuse to address the fact that some other great feature or ability we had before the update/upgrade was stealthy removed and now there's an APP that we can pay for to do what we once could do for free.
It's not just double dipping... It's robbery and we are so addicted we just let them all keep raking in the billions without protest.
